Edward Silva, Founder & President

Ed founded the Baltimore-Washington region’s premier healthcare contracting company in 1978. With nearly 40 years of experience in the remodeling and construction industry, he is an expert on planning, design, and construction projects. Under his leadership, Silva Contracting has become the trusted construction partner of many of the area’s leading healthcare systems. Ed earned a bachelors degree in Marketing from University of Maryland.


Ryan Silva, MCM, CHC, Senior Project Manager

Ryan has worked for Silva Contracting since 2003, after graduating from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Ryan also completed a Masters of Construction Management at Western Carolina University.  He has managed healthcare facility renovation and expansion projects for Adventist Health Care, Anne Arundel Medical Center, Pediatric facilities, Kaiser Permanente, MedStar Health Washington Hospital Center, and the University of Maryland Medical System.


Matthew Silva, Project Manager

Matt has been with Silva Contracting since 2007. He is earned a bachelors degree in Construction Management from the University of Nevada. Matt’s experience and expertise includes procurement, cost control, value engineering, scheduling, and client relationship building. He has worked on major projects for Kaiser Permanente, Adventist Healthcare, Anne Arundel Medical Center, MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center and National Rehabilitation Hospital.


Paul Bodnar, Project Manager

Paul has over eight years of healthcare construction experiences and project management responsibilities with Silva Contracting. He is a graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Construction Management Technology and is preparing to take the CHC exam. Paul’s key clients have included MedStar Health, Anne Arundel Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, and Genesis HealthCare.


Brett Silva, Assistant Project Manager

Brett has been with Silva Contracting since 2010. He graduated from Western Nevada College with a degree in Construction Management. As a project manager, his responsibilities include the daily coordination, scheduling, monitoring, and management of projects.  He has worked on many large-scale projects for clients such as Kaiser Permanente, Manor Care, MedStar Health Washington Hospital Center, and University of Maryland Medical System.


William Kenealy, Quality Control Manager

With over 25 years of experience, Bill has broad and deep knowledge of the construction trade. His expert leadership and project coordination skills enable Silva Contracting to deliver projects on time—even when requirements have shifted. His keen ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work projects have earned him recognition from both his colleagues and clients. Bill earned degrees in Emergency Preparedness Management, Fire Science, and Construction Management from Montgomery College.
